Small

Even a refund of $500 or less can go a long way to improving the look of your garage. Think spring cleaning. Start by getting the clutter out and organizing what’s left. In fact, of all of the home improvements studied, mid-grade garage door replacement, with an average cost of $1,500, was the second-best ranked project for returning value when spending less than $5,000.

Large

If your refund is a bit more sizeable this year, an upscale garage door replacement also has a high return on investment. The average cost of an upscale garage door replacement is $2,700 and according to the Cost vs. Value report has an ROI of about 75 percent for the homeowner.

Don’t stop with a garage door upgrade. Be sure to focus on other curb appeal enhancements like trimming trees, planting a garden, updating the mailbox or even putting a fresh coat of paint on the front door.
